ICPC charges Nigerians on need to fight corruption

Mr Ekpo Nta, Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has said that Nigerians must resolve to reduce corruption to the barest minimum by eschewing and acting against it.

Classified Directory Website He stated this on Friday while talking to participants of 21st session of Policy, Strategy and Leadership lessons of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studeis (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The course which was originated eight years ago by NIPSS is geared toward creating a crucial means of getting technocrats associated with policy making for national development.

Talking on The Function of ICPC in the War Against Corruption: Strategies, Mandate and Challenges, Nta said that corruption was a huge challenge that confronted the country and established at all levels.

He stressed that it was regrettable as the legislations appeared not to be helping the dilemmas, that it remained.

The ICPC boss, hence, called to review corruption laws in the country to ensure deterrence, efficiency and greater operation.

He said that though public perception was the commission was just participated in prosecuting corrupt government officials because of the thoughts attached to it, it was focusing on other corrupt practices.
